The Gospel of Jesus Christ

The gospel is the good news that God the Son, Jesus the promised Christ, who fulfilled the roles of Prophet, Priest, and King, came to earth to inaugurate God's Kingdom. He did this through his atoning death, burial, and resurrection on the third day, so that all who would repent of their sins and believe solely on Christ's death and resurrection would be saved from God's wrath and enjoy a sweet, unbreakable union with the Creator of the universe forever.

All of our ministries and endeavors are grounded only on this gospel. This gospel is for sinners to hear of God's righteous requirements, humanity's utter sinfulness, and the offer of forgiveness of sins and a right relationship with God by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. This gospel is also for believers, because this is the only message in which they stand and are being saved if they hold fast to God's Word (1 Cor. 15:1-2).

God-Exalting Worship

Romans 12:1 says, "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." We were created to worship the One, True, Living God with our whole being, body and soul. And because God is faithful to sanctify believers into the image of Jesus Christ, we devote ourselves to live for His glory - exalting Him together on Sunday mornings and throughout the week with lives of humble service.

Spirit-Filled Prayer

We know that prayer fueled and filled by the Holy Spirit is integral to growth in our walks with God and the expansion of his kingdom. God loves, desires, and commands us to pray, so we joyfully submit to Him. We seek to bathe all of our efforts in humble and bold prayer, trusting in Christ's priestly work on our behalf.

Love for the Church

The mark of true believers is their genuine love for fellow believers. Before Christ saved us, were we selfish, hateful people. But God, being rich in mercy, changed our hearts to love Him and to love our new covenant neighbors, that is fellow believers. Jesus said in John 13:34-15, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." So, we seek to live out the gospel by loving the church, Christ's bride.

Love for the Lost World

Christ has called the church to proclaim the good news that sinners might be justified before God by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. This lost world is headed to destruction, and the church has the one message that can save. Love for the lost means warning and calling them to come in repentance to God, who offers grace and forgiveness through the work of Christ on the cross. Our heart is to see Rock Village, Middleborough, Massachusetts, and this world come to saving faith and join us as we behold our Savior.
